Manitoba Community Foundations Administrative Support Grants

Manitoba is home to more community foundations, per capita, than any other province! The community foundation movement began in Manitoba - and in Canada for that matter - with the establishment of The Winnipeg Foundation in 1921.

As the business of building community endowment funds becomes more complex, the need for administrative strength increases. The purpose of the Administrative Support Grants program is to provide additional administrative resources to volunteer Boards that are attempting to grow their local grant-making capacity.

The Winnipeg Foundation offers administrative support grants to community foundations in Manitoba. Through the generous support of Manitoba Hydro, The Winnipeg Foundation’s grant to each Manitoba foundation will be topped up by one-third.
